I'm new here, or newish, anyway. Things that are worth knowing about me: I write kpop RPF fanfic; I'm an illustrator in the day job (but that's actually a secret); and I love weird short fiction. I'm not technically a fandom old but not not a fandom old either. Fandom-middle-aged, I guess? I've not been writing fic for that long (like 3 years give or take), but it's been teaching me a lot about myself, writing, horniness (nothing like writing tentacle porn to unlock the 'unlearn internalised shame' skill tree), and how much I actually like *jazz hands* narrative nonsensery.
What I like about dreamwidth--this time and the last time I used it as an escape from twitter, for more personal than Elon Musk reasons--is how much it reminds me of my blogging days from around 2008-2009. Not even tumblr has the same comforting i-am-nobody atmosphere. Being here makes me feel like an eccentric old lady who lives in the middle of nowhere in a swamp, probably, and has people over for soup but only the kind of people who are willing to hike through mud which makes them immediately worthwhile company. And hungry for soup. A definite bonus.
(Embodying Granny Weatherwax is aspirational. I have always thought so.)
What this page will become is anyone's guess. We shall see once I get over being preemptively self-conscious about committing some kind of dreamwidth social faux-pas or trampling over some kind of unwritten no-no. (If I do any of that, please forgive me. I'm doing my best.)
